The tree of life appears in Norse religion as Yggdrasil, the world tree, which is a massive tree (possibly a yew or ash) and has extensive lore surrounding it. Trees hold a singular role in Germanic paganism and Germanic mythology, both as individuals (sacred trees) and in groups (sacred groves). Scholars consider that reverence for and rites performed at individual trees are derived from the mythological role of the world tree, Yggdrasil. After Christianization, trees continue to play a significant role in the folk beliefs of the Germanic peoples. Look at your Christmas tree and wonder from where the idea came from.

This Pendant in the shape of a tree holds 4 flush set stones one representing each of the 4 elements. Garnet for fire, Sapphire for Water, Emerald for earth and Cubic Zirconia for air.

This item is initially carved in wax then cast in 100% Sterling Silver. 3mm stones are then flush set into each of the settings. The recesses of the pendant is treated with a patina then polished to a high shine to emphasize the contrast between the raised and lowered areas of the bark and leaves of the pendant.

All of the work from the wax model to the casting and finishing is performed by me at my studio.
